Durham IV 2008 Motions

Motions used in the tournament were as follows:
Round 1- THW allow the sale of lifetime seats in the House of Lords
Round 2- THW prohibit parents from involving their children in any religious ceremony until the age of consent
Round 3- THW not allow sovereign wealth funds to invest in important national industries
Round 4- THW grant bounty hunters full immunity for all crimes committed in bringing international fugitives to justice
Round 5- THW allow state employees to be members of extreme political parties

Semi
THB that the US government should immediately make an unequivocal policy commitment stating that in the event of a significant terrorist attack on US interests which is credibly shown to have been perpetrated by Islamic extremists, it will carpet bomb Mecca

Final
THW use humilition in the stocks as punishment for those guilty of crimes involving anti-social behaviour.
